2024 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS open October 1, 2024—November 1, 2024
The Delta Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International will hold its Biannual Evidence-Based Practice & Research Day on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
The event will be held at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, Louisiana in the UL Lafayette Student Union from 8:00-12:00 PM with student poster presentations from 8:00-10:00 AM and podium presentation from approximately 10:15-11:45 AM.
You are cordially invited to submit an abstract related to original research or evidence based projects. Abstracts will be selected for podium presentations. Completed research is encouraged, however research in progress may also be considered for podium presentations. Master’s and doctoral students are encouraged to submit abstracts!
GENERAL INFORMATION
Abstracts for podium presentation must be received by 11:59 PM on November 1, 2024 for consideration. Acknowledgement that materials arrived on time will be sent via email from Dr. Tricia Templet. The podium presentations will be divided into 15-25 minute sessions.
Submission Format
All abstracts, not to exceed 250 words, are to be submitted to Dr. Tricia Templet via email at tricia.templet@louisiana.edu. Notification of acceptance status for podium presentation will be sent via email from Dr. Tricia Templet.
Expense Expectations
Each speaker/presenter is responsible for paying all his/her own expenses (conference registration, travel, lodging, and meals not included in program).
Abstract Selection and Notification
The research committee of the Delta Eta Chapter will review submitted abstracts and reserve the right to accept abstracts.
Presenters will be notified of acceptance by email on or around November 15, 2024. Time of presentation will be included in the email, which will be sent to the presenting author of each podium presentation.
DEFINITIONS: Podium
A podium session is a session consisting of presentations of research or evidence based project papers and/or theory development/conceptual analysis papers.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
· Abstracts must be no more than 250 words in length. Presenter(s)’ contact information, curriculum vitae (CV), and a completed Disclosure Form will be required after the abstract is officially accepted. A Disclosure Form will be emailed to all accepted presenters by Dr. James Blankenship.
KEY DATES:
· Submission of abstract for consideration: November 1, 2024
· Notification of abstract acceptance for podium presentation: November 15, 2024.
· Confirmation of acceptance and completed Disclosure Form by the primary author/presenter: November 20, 2024.
